As the temperature outside starts to heat up the list of hikers no longer on the trail begins to grow.  Some hikers have gone MIA.  They have not posted in a month.  Also, flip flop hikers begin to make their appearance on the trail in YouTube land.  Enjoy the update for June!

  1. As I was running out of thru hiking videos, of the NOBO variety to watch, though it might be amusing to search for SOBO’s. Found three who have posted videos from the trail. Unless your name is Joe Brewer, or Will Wood, pre-hike gear reviews don’t mean much to me. The three are: Michael Bard, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaqgSGEt-fPHRmvxg7FHghQ; Tonic of Life, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0kifYrD0RgKYs35xg4HE9w and Under Wandering Stars, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZLKQ3BJJTeRbVcdBSgF90Q. To pick three categories, backpacking ability, videography and sense of humor, I give positive grades to all three in the last category.

  2. Comments galore!

Ryno spotted on Katahdin. Ryan Johnson, the “Gator” Miller of the ’16 class, has gone the distance. It is hard for to tell where Alpenglow is but suspect he has summitted or will soon.

Good hikers with quality channels gone off the trail. Steve Walker b/k/a Big Bird; Highlander58 and Hike and Tell post exit videos and leave the trail with class. Sorry to see them leave, but they left in style.

The domestic contingent, we have the four M’s, Craig M. and Yamaneko both from Manhattan and the boys from Mississippi, Skittles and Dutch. Is Yamaneko the best dressed hiker on the trail and the female most likely to finish?

Big Foot does big miles, but can he do it in a hundred days?

Looking for some more hikers to follow.
